Electoral Reform

In our current electoral process, 60 percent of British Columbians vote for other parties while 40 percent vote for the governing party. The first past the post system is a poor and undemocratic electoral system. In 2009, three quarters of British Columbians thought it was unacceptable for parties to get a majority of seats without a majority of votes. Electoral reform, like proportional representation, would give a political voice to every vote in BC. Ensuring that every person has a voice is a key concern of mine and a defining feature of my platform. If elected, I would actively support electoral reform.
