I am a proud supporter of raising the minimum wage to 15 dollars an hour. At the same time, we will need to come up with solutions to offset the cost to small business. Small business is an integral part of our communities economic success. Across Canada, small business creates 78 percent of new jobs and accounts for 27 percent of Canada’s Gross Domestic product (GDP). This election is about your values and making certain we implement policy that benefits the majority. Trickle down economics has clearly failed to create an equitable distribution of wealth. We can shape policy that originates from our communities. The evidence based research on raising the social economics of the poorest is key to a strong community. This grassroots approach is a key piece of my platform. I am in the business of people; not socially, economically, and environmentally destructive corporations. Corporations are legally classified as a person and continue to limit wage growth, small business growth, and affect almost every aspect of people’s lives. I am a candidate with my boots on the ground to represent the interests of my community.
